My love for all things Mobile, AL is well documented.
Mardi Gras is no exception.
In fact, it might be my favorite season of the entire year.
King Cake, colorful beads and masks, balls, parades – what’s not to love?
I wanted to take my daughter to some parades this year, not only because she’s never experienced Mardi Gras, but also because of her passion for photography.
Since she was a little girl, cameras and pictures have fascinated her. For Christmas 2017, she was finally given the camera of her dreams. She’s great at nature photos and the like, but she’s trying to work on her “people” pictures. I hope to give her many more opportunities for that over the course of 2018, but the streets of Mobile during Mardi Gras seemed like a great place for her to start.
I stole these from her Instagram but she took a ton more and I’ll share more whenever I can get my hands on them!
Here’s a couple of looks at our hauls from the parades. The krewes are especially kind to the kids. Reagan caught no less than 7 footballs, 3 stuffed animals, half a dozen Moon Pies, and countless other goodies. Not to mention the beads. And that’s only from one afternoon and evening.
We had such a great time. And my favorite picture from our weekend is not even one she took….
She’s pretty amazing, if I do say so myself.
